JAMB Registrar pledges better service, urges staff to restore candidates’ confidence

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Segun Aina, has reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to customer-oriented service delivery as a cornerstone of its operations.

Aina made the commitment on Friday, August 14, 2026, during his maiden official visit to some of the Board’s outstation offices, where he interacted with staff and familiarised himself with their operations and challenges.

The Registrar, who expressed appreciation to the staff for the warm reception accorded him, urged them to cultivate the resilience and adaptability required to respond effectively to emerging realities in the public service environment.

He said the Board would continue to deploy deliberate strategies, innovative initiatives and appropriate technologies to improve service delivery and enhance the overall experience of candidates.

Aina underscored the importance of quality customer service to the Board’s operations, assuring staff of Management’s commitment to providing the necessary tools, training and institutional support to facilitate efficient and effective service delivery.

He also charged staff to embrace teamwork, professionalism and a shared sense of purpose, particularly in responding to the evolving needs and expectations of Generation Z candidates, who constitute a significant segment of JAMB’s clientele.

According to him, “We must all come together to build trust and reduce trauma.”

The Registrar stressed that every interaction with a candidate provides an opportunity for the Board to strengthen public confidence in its processes.

He therefore urged staff to remain courteous, responsive and solution-driven in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Staff at the stations visited congratulated Aina on his appointment and expressed their appreciation for the visit, saying it would strengthen the relationship between the Board’s leadership and its workforce.

They also noted that the engagement provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas on ways to improve service delivery.

The staff pledged their commitment to the Registrar’s vision and assured him of their continued dedication, professionalism and teamwork in advancing the mandate of the Board.

The statement was signed by Fabian Benjamin, PhD. Ag. Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, JAMB.
