Former Skye Bank chairman, Tunde Ayeni, has continued to deny fathering a child with an Abuja-based lawyer, Adaobi Alagwu, alleging he is being blackmailed.
Ayeni swore an affidavit before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), insisting that he has no paternal ties with the child.
In the affidavit, Ayeni alleged that Alagwu manipulated him into believing he was the father, going as far as tampering with a DNA test to support her claims.
The businessman alleged he had withdrawn any consent previously given for the child to bear his family name.
However, Adaobi, in a response through her lawyer, insists she was legally married to the businessman and that Ayeni is the biological father of her daughter, Omarosa.
The legal counsel stated that the traditional marriage rites between Alagwu and Ayeni were lawfully conducted, including the payment of the bride price, adding that the ceremony was captured on video.
However, Ayeni, through his legal team, called for an investigation into what they described as “an act of criminal blackmail and extortion.”
“In a desperate bid to maintain her illusion of a relationship with Ayeni, Alagwu has allegedly resorted to blackmail, threatening to release compromising private photos of the businessman to the public.
“However, following the breakdown of their entanglement and the confirmation that Ayeni is not the father of Alagwu’s child, he severed all ties with her and, in a gentlemanly manner, issued a quit notice to both Alagwu and her mother, giving them six months to vacate his properties.
“With the expiration of this deadline fast approaching, Alagwu has allegedly resorted to threats, vowing to leak private images in an attempt to coerce Ayeni into allowing her continued occupation of the property,” the legal team noted,” Ayeni cried out.
