The Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election, citing the administration’s bold economic reforms, improving macroeconomic indicators, and growing confidence from respected national and international institutions.
Speaking during an interview, Dr Alausa said President Tinubu has remained faithful to the promises made to Nigerians by implementing far-reaching reforms that are steadily transforming the nation’s economy and laying a solid foundation for sustainable and inclusive growth.
According to the Minister, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Ikharo Attah, Nigeria’s economic progress is no longer a matter of political rhetoric but one backed by credible data and independent assessments.
He noted that reports from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, Bloomberg, and Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) affirm that the country’s economic reforms are delivering measurable results and strengthening investor and public confidence in the economy.
Alausa stated that key macroeconomic indicators continue to show positive trends, with inflation gradually easing, economic activities expanding, and other critical economic indices recording steady improvement.
While acknowledging the encouraging outlook, the Minister stressed that President Tinubu remains focused on ensuring that the reforms are sustainable and continue to benefit Nigerians well beyond the life of the current administration.
“The President is focused on building a stronger Nigeria for generations to come. These reforms are not designed for short-term gains but to create lasting prosperity. There is no value in making difficult decisions if they cannot stand the test of time,” he said.
The Minister added that the administration’s commitment to fiscal discipline, structural reforms, and long-term economic stability is already yielding positive outcomes across several sectors, positioning Nigeria on a stronger path towards inclusive growth, higher productivity, and national development.
Reaffirming his confidence in the President’s leadership, Dr Alausa maintained that as Nigerians continue to witness improvements in economic indicators and experience the positive impact of the ongoing reforms, President Tinubu’s performance will remain his strongest case for seeking a renewed mandate in 2027.
He reiterated that the Tinubu administration remains committed to implementing policies that strengthen the economy, improve citizens’ welfare, and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda. He expressed optimism that the gains recorded through the current reforms would continue to translate into lasting prosperity for all Nigerians.a
