There is currently tension in Nasarawa State following the Supreme Court’s judgment affirming the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The Supreme Court on Friday reversed the sack of the Sule, reinstating him as the duly elected governor of the state.
However, the decision of the apex court appears to have angered residents who have now taken to the streets to protest Sule’s victory at the court.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, supporters are said to have blocked major roads in protest against the Supreme Court’s decision.
Reports from Nasarawa indicates that the Lafia-Jos Road has been completely blocked as protesters burn tires in strategic locations, especially in front of the state secretariat of the party.
Roads have also been barricaded leaving motorists to seek alternative routes.
Sources in the state say security agents are already on ground making efforts to restore normalcy in the state.
