The Senate on Wednesday announced a new Deputy Senate Leader and Chief Whip.
The Upper Legislative Chamber named Senator Oyelola Ashiru from Kwara South as the new Deputy Senate Leader.
This was as Ebonyi North Senator, Nwebonyi Peter Onyeka was named the new Chief Whip of the senate.
Ashiru replaces former Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State as the Senate Chief Whip.
Umahi was the Chief Whip until he was appointed as the Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu.
