Kogi APC chairman collapses, dies at reconciliation meeting

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Oyewole Mayowa Solomon, on Friday, collapsed and died during a party reconciliation meeting in Iyara, the council headquarters.

According to TVC, the incident occurred while Solomon was in a meeting convened by a former Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Funsho Olumoko.

The meeting was reportedly convened as part of efforts to foster unity among APC stakeholders in the area and bring together party leaders and stakeholders to resolve differences and strengthen cooperation ahead of future political activities.

The deceased suddenly collapsed while proceedings were ongoing, causing confusion among participants.

Efforts were reportedly made to revive him before he was rushed to a hospital in Kabba for medical attention. He was, however, declared dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

At the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding his sudden death had not been officially disclosed.
