Nigerian-South African beauty queen, Chidimma Adetshina has said she cries herself to sleep following her ordeal in the wake of her dual citizenship saga for the miss South Africa Pageant.
speaking to Tacha of the Big Brother Naija show on the Big Friday Show, Chidimma said she struggled with identity issues after the saga broke.
She said, “It has been a long journey, so hard at times. I would cry myself to sleep, questioning ‘Why me?’. I had to shift my perspective to see potential greatness emerging from these challenges.”
This interview follows Chidimma’s exit from the Miss South Africa pageant amidst allegations of fraud and identity theft involving her mother by the South African Home Office.
Chidimma faced criticism in South Africa during her Miss South Africa contestant announcement.
Subsequently, she received an invitation from the Silverbird Group to join the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, which she accepted.
