JAMB retirees association rally support for Registrar

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board  Retirees Association, (JRA) has paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, and promised to rally support for him to take the Board to new heights.

The Forum of Retirees, otherwise known as “Senior Citizens,” paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar on Tuesday, 20th October, 2026, to congratulate him and introduce the forum, while assuring him of their readiness to provide institutional and advisory support whenever called upon.

In an address delivered by the President of JRA, Mr Ibrahim Maska Abdulkadir, who was represented by former Director of Admissions, Mrs Ann Momoh, commended the various initiatives taken by the Registrar, his synergy with former Registrars and stakeholders, his quest for ISO certification, and staff welfare, among others.

Maska also requested the Registrar to grant the forum a letter of no objection so as to facilitate its registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC).

In his remarks, the Registrar commended the forum for the visit and assured the delegation of the Board’s willingness to tap into their wealth of experience as well as engage with it whenever the need arose.

On the request for a letter of no objection, the Registrar pointed out that the sanctity of the hard-earned image of the Board matters a lot; as such, it should be jealously guarded so that all its activities are regulated by the Federal Ministry of Education.

He also expressed reservations about the unanimity of the members going forward. He, therefore, urged the forum to involve its legal team in the conversation.

He stated that, personally, he identifies with the group as an individual, but the position of the Board is to take a critical look at the proposed framework of the association. He, therefore, informed the forum that the decision of the Board would be communicated to it in due course after necessary consultations.
