The African democratic Congress, ADC, Lagos State governorship candidate Rhodes-Vivour and the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Funso Doherty, have been tear-gassed at the Lekki Tollgate during the #EndSARS memorial.
A video circulating online on Tuesday, shows police officers deployed to the venue expending tear-gas canisters to disperse the gathering at the commemoration of the sixth anniversary of the 2020 #EndSARS shootings.
The video showed crowds gathered around the tollgate, including beneath overpasses and along barriers and fences, before white smoke from tear gas canisters spread across the roadway.
Police officers were also seen at the scene as people reacted to the gas and moved away from the area, amid vehicles, billboards and other features of the toll plaza.
