The Borno State Government has commissioned the Is-haq Oloyede JAMB Mega Professional Registration Centre (PRC), a state-of-the-art facility built to enhance the registration and examination experience for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions.
The centre was inaugurated on Wednesday by the outgoing Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, who was accompanied by the incoming Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina.
Situated on a 5,300-square-metre site, the fully fenced and landscaped facility is powered by a dedicated 300kVA transformer. It houses an administrative block comprising eight offices, three conference rooms, four registration areas, and 16 convenience facilities.
The centre also features two Computer-Based Test (CBT) halls, each equipped with 275 computers, giving it the capacity to accommodate 500 candidates per examination session and up to 2,000 candidates daily during examinations.
To improve candidates’ comfort, the facility includes two spacious waiting halls with a combined seating capacity of 500 people, alongside six additional convenience facilities.
The foundation stone for the project was laid by Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, on February 24, 2026. Construction was completed in less than six months, ahead of the timeline set by the governor.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Prof. Oloyede described the project as a landmark investment in education and expressed appreciation to Governor Zulum for supporting JAMB’s mandate.
He said the mega registration centre would significantly reduce the challenges faced by admission seekers across Nigeria’s North-East, particularly in accessing registration and computer-based examinations.
The outgoing registrar also commended the governor’s commitment to education, noting that members of the JAMB delegation were impressed by the network of smart schools established by the state government during their visit.
“The commitment of Governor Zulum to making education the cornerstone of his administration is remarkable,” Oloyede said.
Also speaking, the incoming JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, lauded the partnership between JAMB and the Borno State Government, expressing optimism that the collaboration would continue to strengthen the board’s operations and promote educational development.
Governor Zulum, in his remarks, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in education, describing it as the most sustainable solution to the state’s social and economic challenges.
He disclosed that the state government invested more than ₦1 billion in constructing the mega CBT centre, stressing that the long-term educational and developmental benefits of the project far outweigh its cost.
The Is-haq Oloyede JAMB Mega Professional Registration Centre is expected to serve thousands of candidates annually, improving access to registration and examination services while strengthening educational infrastructure across the North-East.
