The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced that the finals of the 2025 Premier Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League will take place from September 14 to 20 at the National Stadium Indoor Sports Hall, Surulere, Lagos.

In a statement signed by NBBF President, Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida, the federation expressed profound appreciation to Zenith Bank Plc for its unwavering support and sponsorship of the women’s league for over 17 years. According to Kida, the bank’s commitment has played a vital role in nurturing talent across the country, many of whom have gone on to represent Nigeria on the continental and global stage.

“The consistent support of Zenith Bank has helped ensure Nigeria’s dominance on the African continent for the past eight years, during which our women’s teams have remained unbeaten,” Kida said.

He further acknowledged the bank’s broader contributions to women’s basketball, including hosting and rewarding the national women’s team, D’Tigress, with a ₦200 million package following their victory at the 2025 AfroBasket Championship.

The NBBF confirmed that the league’s first and second phases had been successfully concluded, paving the way for the final eight teams to battle for the championship crown in Lagos. The event is expected to attract key figures in Nigerian sports, including the Chairman and Director General of the Nigerian Sports Commission, as well as the top management of Zenith Bank Plc.

The federation assured that preparations are underway to deliver a befitting grand finale, with arena branding, prize money, trophies, and game awards reserved for Zenith Bank as title sponsor.
