Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti has surpassed 150 million streams across all credits on Spotify.

The late legendary singer is now the most streamed Nigerian artist active in the 20th century, on the platform.

His most streamed projects includes Zombie (1977), Beasts Of No Nation (1989), Sorrow, Tears and Blood (1977), Shuffering and Shmiling (1978), and Black President (1981).

Since Fela’s death in 1997, reissues and compilations of his music have been overseen by his son, Femi Kuti.

Spotify, an audio streaming and media service provider was launched on October 7, 2008. It became available in Nigeria in February 2021.

The Swedish audio streaming platform is the leading music streaming service in the world.
